  • Representatives of each member department were accounted for: Allgood, Bangor, Blount County Rescue Squad, Blountsville, Cleveland, Dallas/Selfville, Holly Springs, Locust Fork, Mount High, Murphree Valley, Nectar, Oneonta, Pine Mountain, Remlap, Ricetown, Snead, Summit, Susan Moore, West Blount.

Chair’s Report

 

·       October 28h is the District 2 meeting, per Matt Tuckers boss he is not allowed to represent the Association so will need someone to represent the Association.

 

·       The Association is getting $1.5 million dollars, this can not be used on an existing bill.

 

·       $1,087,000 is being given to the Association and the rest is being given to the Sheriffs Department to help with Radios. You will receive 4 truck radios, 8 handhelds, and access for 30 users.

 

EMA

 

  • Fuelman Report - Our annual budget is $60,000. We have used $1,214.00 so far.
  • Several Departments applied for the Homeland Security Grant, we are not sure on the awards date.
  • Blount County Schools Assistant Superintendent Chris Lakey wants to start some new drills with each school, each hallway has been colored coded and they are asking all first responders to help with the drills. Don has sent out the dates for each school in the county via email.

  • 911 is having more issues with the old system, if you call fire base on the radio and after 2 tries they do not respond call them by px.

BREMSS

 

  • EMSA has been extended to January.

 

·        NREMT has waived education limits for 2022 recertifications.

 

·        We are still following the released guidance on COVID cases, these documents are posted on the BREMSS website at www.BREMSS.org

 

·        BREMSS needs the EMSP of the year by November 1. The also need EMD of the year by November 1.

 

·        Effective September 1, 2021 the BREMSS office new address is 410B 10th Avenue South.

 

·        There will be no in person BREMSS Banquet this year

 

 

 

Blount EMS

 

·        Blount EMS will be hosting their yearly training if anyone needs it starting October 13th

 

  • Call volumes are up and crews are tired but making it.
  • Wall times are terrible right now
  • NREMT goes up in price 12/31, so if you need to recertify please do so by this date.
