Financial Reports

 Old Business

  • Firefighter camp went well, thank you for everyone’s support!

 

Committee Reports 

    Chairman 

  • Make sure to document training for VFF tax credit
  • Still send emails to the AAC about ambulance issues and they will be addressed.

 

      EMA 

  • At 76% of Fuelman budget for the year
  • Homeland Security grant deadline is August 1st
  • McPherson had issues with Fuelman on their end
  • Contact David for personnel badges

      911 

  • West Fire 1 channel issue was identified and resolved
  • Working with FirstNet to test devices that seem to be working better
  • There are limitations to grants- 2-3 additional tower sites are needed for P25 to work
  • A grant is roughly $200,000, which is not enough
  • Better radios will not solve infrastructure issues
  • Vehicle repeaters would be grant-eligible

 

911 Board 

  • Lifeguard now has a CAD viewer
  • Will provide the raw report to AAC for review
  • AAC and 911 board are discussing removing the director and dispatcher from the compliancy board

    

 

       Forestry

  • The issues with grants have been mostly resolved
  • Funding should be coming in August- will let you know
  • District 2 Meeting July 27th @ Al and Mick’s

  

       BREMSS 

  • BREMSS 50th anniversary banquet in September 
  • BLS instructor class July18th
  • Possible changes coming to EVOC
  • Be familiar with MSA

      Lifeguard 

  • Classes coming in the next 30-90 days
  • Planning to have an EKG interpretation training with Grandview
  • No computer repair status
  • Med 1 and Med 4 have AVLs
  • New Grandview freestanding ER in Trussville.

 

Coroner 

  • There have been a lot of overdoses recently

 

       Alabama Fire College 

  • Commission meeting Wednesday, July 19th
  • Technical Rescue classes will change curriculum starting Jan. 2024
  • Safety Summit September 7th and 8th @ AFC
  • Complete the dashboard roster/update info

NO Report from the following Departments: 

Fire Prevention, Explorer Post, Special Ops, St. Vincent’s Blount, Sheriff’s Office, DA’s Office, AL Lifesaver, RAMS, Survival Flight, Red Cross, VOAD. 

 

 

   NEW Business  

  • Motion to change meetings to quarterly, and to make changes to bylaws/ rules to accommodate this. Allow for emergency meetings to be held if necessary. Meetings are to be held on the first Thursday of the months of August, November, February, and May.

  • Motion to have all meetings at a centralized location, Cleveland if possible (community center). With different departments sponsoring as usual.

  • Proposal to start quarterly meetings in 2024, in the meantime only allow vendors/guests

every other month for the remainder of the year to allow time for discussion of bylaws changes.

With no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 20:30
